Pallet Town

Pallet TownPallet Town
A tiny town nestled in South Kanto, home to Professor Oak's Lab, as well as the homes of Red and Green. It is a very quiet place and quite out of the way so it rarely gets any visitors. There are enough shops and supplies to keep the town going, and the nearest City is only a short walk away, meaning that the population itself also very rarely leaves.

Red's House

An unassuming and very average looking house with a red front door. The house is two stories high, however the second story is built into the roof with only a single room and a small window peeking out at the streets below. This room belongs to Red, however he hasn't had much use for it since starting out on his journey.

Green's House

Just as Red's House has a red front door this house has a green one - it appears both boys must have painted them this way when they were young. Green's house is built in a similar fashion to Red's, with his own room situated in the same place. Even though Green has now set out on his journey, his older sister Daisy and Grandfather still live here.

Professor Oak's Lab

The centre of Pokémon Research in Kanto, it is odd to find it in such an unassuming place, however the Professor relocated here eight years ago to take care of his grandchildren. The lab is a large and impressive building right at the heart of Pallet Town. The staff is small but they have plenty of space inside the lab to work on whatever projects they need to.

Viridian City

Viridian CityViridian City
Not a large City, the Pokémon Gym here is at the most notable building in the city. However it has a network of interesting places where trainers meet up for battles or to discuss Pokémon, particularly those who are young and not yet able to pass through Mt. Moon where more Pokémon Trainer facilities are available.

The Gym is often closed as the Gym Leader travels a lot, however the Leader here is rumoured to be one of the most powerful. He's a mysterious figure even to the people of the City who hardly see him.

Viridian Academy

An elite school in Kanto that students must pass an entrance exam to enter. It is tied with schools across the other Regions. Students that graduate from these schools will often be accepted into impressive Universities.

Viridian ForestViridian Forest
A large tangled forest that lies between Viridian and Pewter City, it can be avoided, but the route around is much longer. The forest is full of bug Pokémon, as well as being one of the few places in the world where a Pikachu can be caught.

Pewter City

Pewter CityPewter City
The Largest City in West Kanto, with a large range of various attractions, most notably the Science Museum and Gym. Pewter City prides itself on being the Educational Capital of Kanto and is where many scientific and historical investigations into Pokémon Origins are conducted.

Pewter Gym

Brock in the Gym Leader of Pewter City, an intelligent man who mostly focuses his efforts on rock-type Pokémon. For trainers coming from Pallet Town he will usually be the first Gym Leader they face, and is the first challenge on their journey before scaling Mt. Moon.

Pewter Museum of Science

The Museum is composed of two main areas: The one open to the public, and the one closed to the public. The public are able to enter the main museum where they can pay to gain entry and look at the exhibits, but there is also a separate building around the back where scientists and students work on research projects into the genetic origins of Pokémon. The research here is overseen by Professor Oak who will occasionally make journeys to the Museum to see how things are going.

A famous Kanto landmark. Mt. Moon is a mysterious mountain where Clafairy gather on a full moon - scientists are baffled as to why this is. This mountain must be crossed in order to reach Cerulean City on foot, there are plans however to build a cable car system.

Cerulean CityCerulean City
The air is fresh and it is said Cerulean City is one of the healthiest places in Kanto to live. To the North of the City lies Bill's Research Facility and famous landmarks Nugget Bridge and Cerulean Cape.

Cerulean Gym

Run by Misty, a Gym Leader who specializes in Water Pokémon. Misty is an attractive young women who also takes part in regional swimming races. However, she is very loyal to her gym and can often be found here if a trainer does wish to challenge her. The Gym itself has been transformed into a giant salt water swimming pool for the Gym Trainer's Pokémon to swim in, as well as for the Gym Leader and trainers themselves to keep up with their swimming practise.

Bike Shop

Although it may not seem like much, the Bike Shop in Cerulean is the main distributors of bikes in the Region - for those who can afford them of course. They occasionally will offer promotional give-aways if you're lucky enough to be passing at the time.

Kanto's business port, and a place where many cruise ships and glamorous yachts will anchor. It is a bustling City always in motion, with an expansive collection of facilities for tourists, trainers and ordinary people.

Harbor

The harbor is always a busy place, full of bustling sailors, tradesmen and tourists. The water itself is always full of boats as well, varying from fishing boats and yachts to trade ships and cruise liners. It can be a little dangerous at night though, so it is recommended that the less busy areas are avoided during the hours of darkness.

Run by Lt. Surge an experienced battler and master of electric Pokémon. Lt. Surge insists on challenging a trainer's mind as much as their Pokémon, with odd puzzles set up around the gym. Getting a gym badge from here will not be easy for first time trainers.

Lavender Town

A very traditional and small town built beneath 'The Pokémon Tower', a large cemetery where the souls of dead Pokémon sleep. The town has a slightly eery atmosphere lying over it, one that makes passers by uncomfortable. Not many stay long.

Pokémon Tower

A large Tower filled with the tombs of dead Pokémon. Many trainers come here to pay homage to their deceased friends. The tower is guarded by Channelers who keep the graves clean and ensure they are not disturbed.

Pokémon House

Founded by Mr. Fuji, the Pokémon house is a home to many abandoned or orphaned Pokémon who are not able to take care of themselves in the wild. Volunteers help to support the centre and take care of the Pokémon that are brought here.

Celadon City

Celadon CityCeladon City
The Capital of Kanto and its largest City. Tourism, leisure and business are all key elements in the city, supporting a giant Pokémart, Casino, business district and Gym. It is expensive to stay in Celadon though, so many poor travellers will opt to camp between Celadon and Saffron.

The largest shopping Centre in Kanto, the Department stores brings people from all over the world to visit and shop. It is one of the very few Department stores that sells evolutionary stones, so many people from Johto will travel here just to get their hands on them.

Celadon Condominiums

Part of the business district, Celadon Condominiums rents out floors to occupants and well as small businesses. There are many artists, technicians and entrepreneurs that work and live here.

Celadon Casino

The controversial Celadon Casino, one of the few gambling houses left across the Regions. It is rumoured that the Casino has unsavoury ties with Team Rocket, but business continues to boom and punters continue to come and spend their money to earn tokens to exchange for rare Pokémon at the prize counter.

Very few trainers can actually afford to stay in the hotel even if it is towards the edge of the city. Rooms are often booked out months in advance so simply turning up and requesting a room would not be an option either.

Celadon Gym

Run by Erika, a grass-type specialist. Despite the City's busy atmosphere, the Celadon City Gym, located near the edge of the city is a peaceful greenhouse where only women can join. The gym is run in a traditional manner and the women who run the Gym are not particularly comfortable around male trainers who come to challenge them.

A grand further education facility that specializes in Science and History, it has many students from around the World, most of which go on to become scientists and researchers working under the Professors of the different Regions.

Saffron City

A large and central City that connects Johto and Kanto together via the Magnet Train. The city has many long and winding streets and many places to explore, as well as being the only City with two Gyms - although only one is officially recognised by the Elite Four.

Silph Co.'s headquarters

One of the biggest companies in the world. Silph Co. invented the Pokéball and own the main lines of production across the Regions. The Silph Co. building is a huge complex that stands amongst the other skyscrapers in the city.

Fighting Dojo

Although it is not officially recognised as one, many refer to The Fighting Dojo as Saffron's second Gym. It is run by Kiyo, a martial arts expert and well as a master of fighting type Pokémon. He will offer any trainer that can beat him one of the gym's prized Pokémon rather than a badge.

Magnet Train station

The train line that connects Johto and Kanto together. The Magnet Train is a super fast service that can travel between Saffron and Goldenrod City in half an hour. It is used very often by people who need to travel between the two regions for business.

Pokémon Trainer Fan Club

A second fanclub, partnered with the one in Vermilion exists here. The fanclub will try and put trainers up for the night, however they rarely have room for everyone. This is a useful place for trainers, breeders and coordinators to travel and exchange tips.

Sabrina, the psychic specialist leads the Saffron Gym. She is a silent and proud woman, and one of the most powerful trainers in the Region. She is a formidable opponent, and the gym itself is littered with puzzles in the form of warp panels, making the Gym feel more like a maze than anything else.

Fuchsia City

Fuchsia CityFuchsia City
A traditional City, famous for the Safari Zone and Zoo that lie in the northern part of the City. Many rare Pokémon can be found here and it is relatively cheap for trainers to stay and spend as much time as they want looking around.

Safari Zone

The Safari Zone is home to many rare Pokémon. Trainers can pay to enter the Safari Zone with a certain number of Safari Balls and a Time limit in which they are free to explore. However when the time runs out they will be called back to the entrance and have to pay again for any more time.

The Pokémon Zoo holds a collection of rare Pokémon, many of which can be caught in the Safari Park. This is a popular tourist attraction, not just because of the Pokémon, but also because of the naturally carved environments created for the Pokémon to live in.

Fuchsia Gym

Run by Koga who specializing in Poison-type Pokémon. The Gym is a maze constructed to make it difficult for challenging trainers to reach Koga or find their way back out. Koga's daughter Janine is currently training to take over the gym, when her father is away she will challenge trainers in his place.

Cinnabar Island

An Volcanic island that lies to the south of Pallet Town across the sea. Cinnabar Island is an unusual place and home to one of the labs where research is done on Pokémon Origins, specifically the DNA elements of this, it is rumoured that scientists here can clone ancient Pokémon from fossils and bring them back to life.

Burned Mansion

A mysterious building that the locals do not venture near. The Mansion was once a research facility however it is now a dangerous, burnt out ruin. It is not reccomended that people venture inside as the building is unstable.

One of the scientific research facilities of Kanto, however they are separate from the official Kanto research projects run by Professor Oak, even if they often collaborate. Rumours are that the scientists here can clone Pokémon and bring extinct Pokémon back to life.

Cinnabar Gym

Located at the foot of the Volcano, Cinnabar Gym is run by Blaine, a fire-type specialist and scientist. Blaine often travels around Kanto for scientific investigations, however he does try to make it back to his gym when he can.
